DARA conducts evaluations of part of the system such as thematic or sector evaluations.

Thematic evaluations cover one theme across a number of projects or country programs, or across the organisation as a whole and contribute to develop or refine policy, such as DARA’s evaluation of the ICRC policy on internally displaced persons (IDPs).

We also evaluate aid by sector, such as health or public nutrition. Amongst others, DARA was commissioned to carry out a study of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation’s (AECID in its Spanish acronym) contribution to the health sector during 2005-2008.

DARA carries out project and programme evaluations for humanitarian and development key stakeholders.
