Description of project
For over two decades Somalia has suffered from prolonged conflict, protracted crisis and insecurity causing massive damage to human livelihoods and the provision of social services such as health, education, water, sanitation, food and nutrition. In addition gender inequality is extremely high in Somalia with women suffering from high levels of exclusion and inequality.
The WFP Protracted Relief and Recovery Operation (PRRO) was designed to enable communities to more effectively cope with hardships through recovery assistance. The operation targets vulnerable pastoralists, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the urban poor through enhancing medium- and long-term resilience in vulnerable communities, rebuilding food and nutrition security in households, and protecting livelihoods during shocks and seasonal vulnerabilities.
DARA’s evaluation aims to provide feedback on the activities implemented and results achieved, lessons learned and formulate recommendations in order to improve operation implementation and provide input for the future operations.
