EuropeAid has awarded a five-member consortium, of which DARA is a partner, the project: “Post-conflict and post-disaster needs assessment: development of assessment capacity and tools“.
The consortium is led by Particip, and is composed of the European Center for Development Policy Management (ECPDM), GOPA, Punto Sud and DARA.
The overall objective of the project is to enable regional and in-country capacity in Post-Conflict and Post-Disaster Needs Assessments to gradually take on a more prominent role, by directly contributing to developing common operational practices and tools with the UN, World Bank, the EC and regional organisations.
The geographical scope of the project is global. Requests will depend on regional trainings and capacity building opportunities, as well requests made by the governments of affected countries.
Together with the rest of the consortium, DARA will provide technical assistance and two long-term experts.
The project will run from January 2013 until January 2015.
