In recent evaluations and in the Humanitarian Response Index, DARA has highlighted leadership as one of the core issues to be strengthened in humanitarian assistance. ALNAP’s new report Leadership in Action: Leading effectively in humanitarian operations looks into effective leadership and how it can be reinforced.  It uses 11 case studies of effective leadership in a number of contexts, including one on Ross Mountain, DARA Director General and former head of the UN in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The recommendations outlined in the study are intended for humanitarian agencies, leaders and the humanitarian system in general.
