During a field visit to the occupied Palestinian territories March and April 2009, a team from the independent non-profit research organisation DARA assessed the current humanitarian situation and interviewed more than 50 aid organisations about the support they are receiving from their international donors.

The visit is part of DARAs research for the 2009 edition of the Humanitarian Response Index (HRI), which assesses and ranks 23 of the worlds wealthiest donors on their response to humanitarian crises around the world.
