In the first phase of the Risk Reduction Index in 2009-2010, DARA developed the methodology and carried out analysis of the capacities and conditions for disaster risk reduction in seven countries in Central America and the Caribbean: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

The RRI final report was launched in Madrid in January 2011.

Click on the map below to view a summary of the characteristics of the Representative Territorial Units (RTUs) selected by country, the national workshops celebrated and the country profiles. In total, 21 RTUs (three in each country) were analysed, six workshops were conducted and 366 key informants participated in the seven countries.
