DARA emphasizes the varying impact of climate change on human society and points to the most effective measures to reduce that impact. Through the Climate Vulnerability Initiative (CVI), DARA works to promote more effective international and national strategies for promoting the well-being of vulnerable populations in the context of global climate change.
The project’s three major pillars are:
The Climate Vulnerability Monitor. The Climate Vulnerability Monitor is a global , groundbreaking publication which now plays a crucial role in supporting the design of more effective global and national strategies to safeguard populations, ecosystems and economies. It benefits from the strategic and technical inputs of 30 leading experts, scientists and policy-makers active in the fields of development, humanitarian assistance and the environment.
The Climate Vulnerable Forum. The promotion of constructive and effective climate leadership among vulnerable countries through communications and event support for the Climate Vulnerable Forum- a group of countries heavily affected by climate change
Policy assistance to members of the Forum for the development of national low-carbon, climate-resilient planning.
