Description of project
- DARA’s staff member was team leader on the assignment that performed a mid-term evaluation of WFP’s Country Programme in Mozambique. The evaluation had the purpose of informing WFP staff in Mozambique, the regional office and head-quarters about the progress of the Country Programme and suggested changes to be integrated in the design of a new programme.
- Main emphasis was on activities in the social sector – mainly school feeding programme and WFP’s logistics in Mozambique (carried out by an external consultant). The evaluation applied UNEG’s evaluation criteria.
- Examples of findings provided are concrete recommendations with regards to ensuring more ownership from National Authorities (Ministry of Education) and identifying replicable- and cost-effective models for future nation-run programmes. Other recommendations were targeting specific operations issues.
